This home is beautiful and the views from the deck are incredible! Hilmar and Laufey provided helpful information and were available to answer questions throughout our week. From the cozy window seat to the toasty hot tub, we were able to wind down each evening after a full day of adventures. This home made the perfect base for everything we wanted to do along the southern coast of Iceland. Thank you for sharing your home - and the great bottle of wine with our group!!

Hilmar was incredibly gracious and welcoming - checking in with us prior and making sure everything was perfect upon our arrival. The home was beautiful, very clean / well kept, and the surrounding landscape was incredible! Kids played on the trampoline and basketball for hours. The hot tub was clean and inviting (we appreciated the glass surround with the cold winds). My personal favorite was the sauna. We were close to Hella and only a short drive from many scenic destinations and delicious food. Thanks again to our hosts for sharing this little piece of paradise with us!

We had the great pleasure of staying at both properties offered by the hosts, Hilmar and Laufey. A Penthouse in the heart of Reykjavik and this Cottage in the countryside. Both were beyond fantastic and presented the perfect opportunity to have a complete Iceland experience.
The Cottage and its views is simply stunning. Even with a full itinerary of things to do in Iceland you’ll find yourself wanting to just hang out and relax in this place as much as possible. Even more so with the tasteful decor and superb amenities.
The hosts are the absolute greatest and provide a folio link upon check in complete with sightseeing tips and restaurant recommendations. You basically have your own personal Iceland concierge.
The property photos are indeed accurate, but the actual experience is even better.
Thank you Hilmar and Laufey for providing the base for an outstanding vacation. You made it even better than we imagined it would be!!

Our family of 3 generations ages 9 - 73 gathered in Iceland for family reunion. This home is perfect for couples or families with children.
It is situated on beautiful property with mountains in the distance, horses nearby, and abundant and wide variety of bird life. The views of the river below and mountains in the distance never got old.
The children played on the in-group trampoline, in the hot tub, hiked in the meadow and thru the small forest.
The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms are modern, clean, and stylish.
Your are located in the country but only 7 minutes from Hella with restaurants, gas, and groceries. Our daily trips to South Coast sites including waterfalls, museums, and Westmann Islands, were easy to do. We really enjoyed the horseback riding adventure 10 minutes away at Icelandic Horseworld.
Each day we returned to a wonderful home so comfortable and able to meet the needs of all ages.

Absolutely unforgettable experience at this house with the most stunning views of any airbnb we’ve ever stayed at! The views of the glacier and Hekla with the midnight sun are breathtaking. Our family of 6 had plenty of room and privacy. The sauna was lovely. Kids enjoyed the trampoline so much. Host was very good at communicating quickly when we had questions. We will be back :)
